Bonfire By Night

Imagine taking a boat ride on a river enveloped in the inky blackness of a still summer night.  Sky and water merge into one dark, featureless ribbon.  You come upon the amber glow of a distant fire illuminating a patch of shoreline ahead.  As you draw closer, faceless silhouettes can be seen moving within the veil of a large bonfire.

You feel a sense of community there.  Maybe even a longing to join them.  One more effigy moving between the sky above and water below.  The golden hues of this painting literally shimmer at night with little to no light on.
