A simple checker pattern made more interesting by using the British spelling for "checker".  Here the term is expressed in its verb form, where the canvas is marked with squares of different overlapping sizes and colors that are further delineated by crossing lines using a variety of colors.

If you read this description using a posh English accent, you won't be able to resist looking at the painting and somehow feeling lighter and relaxed.
