This piece continues my interest in plaster and pareidolia, with one new addition: I sacrificed six innocent paint brushes to the paint gods, hoping that by embedding them in the wet plaster and making them an integral part of the under painting, more ideas would present themselves to my pareidolia vision.
The exact opposite happened!
Not only did more ideas not present themselves to my pareidolia vision, but also my desire to paint at all dropped more sharply than bitcoin.
Clowns, creepy clowns of all things, was the only idea to emerge from the abyss. Using textured plaster and embedded objects presented challenges to painting identifiable figures, but it helped me embrace abstraction to the level of suggestion without being concerned with minute details.
