Inspired by a box of crayons, Composing 'Y' draws upon my memories of elementary school and the process of learning how to learn. Allusions to fundamental colors, shapes, and letters bring to mind the small cardboard box containing all of my school supplies: ruler, pencils, protractor, crayons, glue, scissors. All the basic tools needed to start a life of learning.
