Inspired by the Ukrainian flag, this painting celebrates the Ukrainian people amidst dire geo-political circumstances.  Their national symbol drapes over disjointed and irregular shapes, like shifting boundaries on a map.  The grain below and the sky above provide order and meaning in the midst of total chaos.
