Red Spruce

This highly textured and variegated little piece is inspired by the Christmas trees of my youth, when my family would load into the car and head to the local grocery store to purchase a live spruce for our modest den.  The decorations were always wonderful, but the tree's natural smell sticks in my mind more than anything else.  That smell is so strong and distinct, I wanted to put color to it as a way to remember the past even more vividly.
