Shadow Series

Bonfire By Night and Plato's Cave are part of an ongoing series of paintings I call the "Shadow Series" for their interest in and expression of shadowy figures using alcohol ink over acrylic paint.  The ink reacts much differently to canvas and paint layers than acrylic does.  It almost finds its own way, then embeds itself as a deep boundary of unique and varied forms that fit within somewhat fixed patterns.  These patterns often manifest as anthropomorphic figurines or attenuated human shadows distorted by light.

These pieces are sold individually per their specific list price, or together in this two-piece set for $50 less than the combined list prices.  More in this series is on the way.
