Vigil is, for me, about meeting feelings of anxiety and uncertainty with acute wakefulness.  Being concerned enough about someone or something to intentionally and purposefully remain awake to grapple with it in your heart and mind.

The symbolism in this piece changes with the orientation of the canvas.  Still, something about it suggests awareness and wakefulness to me.  You may see something else.
